We are available for questions and we’re glad to assist in any way we can.
Visitors can enjoy convenient dining options directly next door at Southbound and Ladles Soup across from the apartment. The home is set in Cannonborough, an inviting downtown area blending historic and stylish residential homes. It’s steps away from the College of Charleston, as well as Upper King Street’s eateries and shopping.
We are only 3 blocks from Upper King Street, so most guests prefer to walk and explore the city. The beach is 15 minutes away by car. There is also a free shuttle offered by the city that runs along King Street (3 blocks away) to popular stops. Bike rentals are available nearby or you might enjoy trying a pedicab taxi. We offer free parking on site or in the lot we manage across the street.
We are three blocks from King Street, right in the middle of all Charlestonian activity. Incredible restaurants such as Southbound, Verns, 167 Raw, Malagon, Indaco, and Azur. Great places to have drinks are even closer at places like Felix, Stars, Babas, and Prohibition. There are also great niche restaurants closer than King Street, such as coastal Italian at Allora or creative Indian at Rivayat. If you want the full Charleston experience, a walking tour or carriage tour is a must. If you have sea legs and are aiming for total immersion into history, the steamboat runs to Ft. Sumter daily and you can land your two feet exactly where the Civil War started.
Please note: * One off street space provided in the spot to the left of the house. Additional parking available across the street in our private lot at $20/day. This apartment requires guests to access from the spiral staircase pictured here. This is the only access to the rental. * The shower features an antique claw-foot “mini” tub (4.5 feet), that we salvaged locally. The tub/shower features a grab bar and non-slip tread — however, this is not ideal for anyone with mobility concerns. *There is an additional unit beneath this rental in the same home, which sleeps 3 guests. If you happen to be traveling with a larger party, we’d be happy to coordinate a whole house rental to accommodate 5. * All Charleston homes in the historic footprint of the city – which this rental falls into – must abide by strict renovation mandates. As such all of our rentals must feature single pane glass to reflect the look and feel of the original home dating back to the 1800s. As such, noise does travel and we ask that all guests who rent from us here and at our properties adjacent please be respectful of neighbors at all times and especially watch noise levels when coming and going after 10 p.m. for the enjoyment of all guests. * Loud noise and partying will not be tolerated. *This is a LEGAL listing. Beware of listings found outside of the Cannonborough-Elliotborough neighborhood. Our neighborhood is the only APPROVED short term rental zone in the city. Listings found outside of this area might be abruptly shut down, and existing reservations could be cancelled last minute.*
You will be able to access the entire space. No sharing of spaces or surfaces with other guests. To access the space from the driveway, walk down the brick sidewalk on the left side of the house to the rear. Go up the spiral stair to the deck to access the space. If you have any concerns, of course we are happy to help you with luggage going up the stairs! You also have access to a shared patio on property with big Green Egg charcoal grill, charcoal being complimentary of course. *Please note this rental is located on the second floor and only accessible by spiral staircase!
